IANUS ENGINEERING | Advantages

Advantages

No marks or scratches, smooth surface

Hydroforming process allows a very clean surface on the final product. It avoids the needing of polish or handwork to eliminate deformations or notches.

No method can give a cleaner surface than the hydroforming technology. This is because no friction between metals, providing a homogeneous deformation and a constant hardening.

Perfect geometry, perfect tanks

In the manufacture of tanks, the dished end controls the cylinder profile. Thus, a fund made by the combined technique of stamping + hydroforming results a symmetrical tank, aligned and balanced weight distribution.

Perimeters, high repeatability

It may be usual to check the perimeter of the dished ends that form a tank to ensure they are within acceptable tolerances.

With the combined stamping + hydroforming process, the dimensional control is not required because all units produced are identical, with a maximum deviation less than 1 mm in the perimeter.

Flat edge, easy welding

Especially in the ends of the tank, usually required a flat bottom edge to facilitate the welding process. With the traditional method, distortions of between 5 and 20 mm are common.

Thus, the combined manufacturing method of IANUS, the flatness of the dished end is complete and the remaining material is removed in a posterior operation of the stamping+hydroforming operation.

Fast production, fast assembly

All these advantages (smooth surface finish, perfect geometry, exact perimeter and flat edge) work together to provide direct benefits to the manufacturer:

- Quality of the tank superior to other manufacturers who mount conventional dished ends.

- Increased production rate of dished ends, about 8 times faster.

- Important time savings mounting in the cylinder, between 30 and 60 minutes per piece. In a real case, in a tank that needs 8 dished ends, our production system can save between 2.5 and 8 hours per tank of labor.
